Thrift Shop

The Thrift Shop is operated by the Spousesí Club of the Fort Sam Houston Area (SCFSH) and is a non-profit 501 (c)7.  The Thrift Shop provides authorized personnel of the Fort Sam Houston community a convenient medium to sell or to purchase previously owned merchandise.  The purpose of the Thrift Shop is to generate funds from a percentage of sales from consigned items and the profits made from donated items.  The funds raised are for the use of the SCFSH in accordance with its Constitution.

Operating Hours
New Hours effective March 19, 2014

Sales:  Wednesday & Thursday:  9:30AM to 2:30PM
Consignments:  Wednesday & Thursday:  9:30AM to 1:00PM 
1st Saturday of the month (unless a Holiday):  Sales:  9:30AM to 2:30PM; Consignments:  9:30AM-1:00PM
Shop Closed:  All Federal/Local Holidays

JUNE - Days of Operation: 4th, 5th, SAT. 7th, 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, 25th, and 26th
the entire month of JULY
Consignors please note if you would like your check for June sales please leave a self addressed envelope and we will mail them in JULY otherwise your check will be available beginning August, 4th

The Thrift Shop reserves the right to close the shop and/or consignments early in the event of volunteer shortage.  Other closings will be at the discretion of the Chairperson/Thrift Shop Board.

Appliances:  washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators window air conditioners
Auto Parts: all parts ( accessories and tools are ok)
Baby items:  cribs, high chairs, car seats, jump chairs, saucer seats, swings,
Books: encyclopedias, magazines, text books
Building Materials or Parts: wood, nails, doors, windows, sinks, paint, varnish, etc.
Clothing:, used bathing suits 4T and up, used undergarments, used socks
Computer: computers, printers, keyboards, monitors, fax and copy machines, scanners, disc/holders
Electronics: tube TVs, used cell/home phones
Housewares: ice cube trays,generic floral vases, used candles
Household Goods: blinds, shades, ceiling fans
Mattresses: box springs, regular/inflatable mattresses, mattress pads, foam pads, sleeping pillows
Pet: scratching posts, bedding
Sports: all trophies/award plaques
Toiletries: used toiletries/hygiene products
Toys: used stuffed animals/dolls
Weapons: ammunition, guns, knives

Items not accepted for Consignment...Revised 30 Sept., 2013

Appliances: washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, window air conditioners, Ads/pictures can be placed on the
bulletin board for .50 cents per week. (Smaller appliances such as dorm size refrigerators, microwaves, coffee pots, toasters are ok)
Auto Parts:  all parts (Auto accessories and tools are ok)
Baby items:  cribs, high chairs, car seats, jump chairs, saucer seats, swings
Books:  encyclopedias, magazines, textbooks, Reader's Digest books, books on tape (Books on CD are ok)
Beauty/Health care products:
  new or used makeup, shampoo/conditioner, hair dyes, used hair care products like barrettes, headbands, curlers/curling irons, brushes or combs, walkers, wheelchairs, crutches
Building Materials or Parts
:  wood, nails, doors, windows, sinks, cabinets, paint, varnishes, etc.
Clothing:  used bathing suits 4T and up, used undergarments including sports bras, used socks, men's suits (Men's sport coats and hats are ok with Thrift Shop discretion), no bundled clothing
Computer:  computers, printers, keyboards,typewriters, monitors, fax and copy machines, scanners, disc/holders, (New software, unopened computer and photo paper, laptop bags, new ink cartridfes, unopened blank DVD's and CD's are ok)
Electronics: tube TVs, used cell/home phones, speakers, VCR players, (Small flat screen TV's 32" or less, Blu-Ray Disc players, small stereos, radios, clock radios, boom boxes and small electronics that can be easily tested before purchase are ok)
no items that are perishable
Housewares:  ice cube trays, generic floral vases, used candles
Household Goods:  blinds, shades, ceiling fans
Mattresses:  box springs, regular/inflatable mattresses, mattress pads, foam pads, sleeping pillows
Pet:  scratching posts-bedding unless new
Sports:  all trophies/award plaques, large exercise equipment, roller blades/skates
Toiletries:  used toiletries/hygiene products
Toys:  used stuffed animals/dolls accepted with Thrift Shop discretion
Weapons:  ammunition, guns, ( no air assault or any toy gun that looks real)

Exceptions to the above lists may be made at the discretion of FSH Thrift Shop management
